The Universe as Mental Projection
On the I, the triad of knowing, and the ocean beneath the waves.
The entire universe remains as a mere illusion. The entire universe is projected out of mental reality. The senses perceive the universe through their various channels, and what they perceive is then further defined by the mind. The mind is the foundation of all mental concepts. The mind is the reflection of the Self.
The mind is encompassed by both awareness and illusion. It is awareness that brings about Self-Realization. It is illusion that gives birth to endless worlds.
It is the mind which gives birth to the I. The I remains as a limited concept, projecting centricity and separateness. And from separateness arises the triad: the knower, the known, and the knowledge.
The Triad
When shrouded with ignorance, the knower, the known, and the knowledge are viewed as separate. This separation takes one on an endless wandering through multiple universes. When illuminated with awareness, the same triad reveals the nature of THAT, the Self.
The knower, the I, projects Will and Action. These two concrete mental movements bring about the birth of the universe. But if one looks carefully, even before the Will, the very small spark of curiosity, what is that thing? has already given birth to the universe.
The Premature Stopping
The birth of the universe does not mean the literal conception of molecules. This is not what is being spoken of. It means the formation of mental projection. One looks at a stone, does not know what it is, and concludes that it is separate from oneself. The unwise one did not properly investigate the nature of the stone. He declared it separate, and the universe was born in that declaration.
There is no challenge in the curiosity itself. The curiosity is what gave rise to the universe, and that is not the problem. The issue arose when the ego decided that the investigation was enough, that it had what it needed, and stopped. This premature stopping is the improper investigation. And improper investigation gives rise to illusion.
These illusions are mere appearances, like waves on the surface of the mind. When a wave arises, it must come down. All waves arise on the ocean. The disturbances caused by waves do not affect the ocean. The ocean is the Self. THAT is where everything rises and comes down.
The I never intentionally gave rise to this universe. The universe rose of its own accord. It will come down of its own accord.
What the Steady One Asks
The steady one, while explaining all this, never asks you to judge anything, or break anything, or do anything. The request is simpler: observe, with absolute awareness, with stillness. Let all thoughts and actions and events be watched as the appearances they are, good or bad alike.
This continuous stillness slowly causes thoughts to cease. The sense of mental separateness subsides. The mind remains calm, like still water. Naturally, the senses which were projected outward begin to turn inward. As they turn inward, the senses which had been creating what we call the universe finally collapse, and one remains as THAT.
One single white dot. Only awareness.
